National sporting organisations (NSO) recognised by Sport Australia are required to have a Member Protection Policy or equivalent.
The Sport Australia Member Protection Policy template was developed to assist NSOs to write their own sport-specific member protection policy. It is one of several steps to address issues of; harassment, discrimination and child protection within their organisation.

The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) SSSM Best Practice Principles have been developed as a practical guide to assist sporting organisations in performing their oversight function in relation to SSSM practices.
These Best Practice Principles are intended to operate in conjunction with, and without limitation of, the other components of an organisation’s anti-doping framework.

The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) Sports Science Sports Medicine (SSSM) Practitioner Minimum Standards represent the mandatory minimum standards for SSSM staff and contractors engaged to deliver services in these discipline of practice by National Sporting Organisations (NSOs) that are subject to the AIS SSSM Best Practice Principles via their Sport Investment Agreement.

Sport Australia incorporating the Australian Institute of Sport will provide position statements for the sector to enable organisations to implement best practice.
