In 2018, the Australian Government committed more than $150 million to drive national sports participation and physical activity initiatives to get more Australian’s moving more often.

Our Move It AUS grant programs are focused on building more active environments, improving the health and wellbeing of older Australians and targeting communities with high inactivity levels.

Building active environments

Delivering $100.6million to enhance 684 grassroots facilities across Australia

The Move It AUS – Community Sport Infrastructure grant program aims to improve local community sport infrastructure which will support greater community participation in sport and physical activity and/or offer safer and more inclusive community sporting hubs.

Improving the health and wellbeing of older Australians

The Move It AUS - Better Ageing grant program aims to increase levels of physical activity of Australians aged 65+, particularly those least active, to improve their overall health and wellbeing.
